1. Is this like spinning?
Well, you’re on a bike, so yes.  But it is more than spinning.  Where spinning is usually done on bicycle-like machines to support general aerobic fitness, our programs are very cycling specific.  You ride on your own bike, and the workouts and exercises are specifically designed to improve your abilities as a cyclist, not just to increase your basic fitness.

2. Will I be able to keep up?
We’ll all be in the same room together, so yes, no one gets left behind.  On the other hand, the workouts can be intense, depending on the session, and part of the fun is the competitive camaraderie that develops among the participants.  Computrainers are designed to deliver a workout specifically targeted to your ability, so even though another rider may be a “stronger” rider than you, you’ll both be working at the same percentage of your capacity.

3. What do I need to know to be able to participate?
You’ll need to learn how to set your bike in the Computrainer, connect a cadence sensor and calibrate the Computrainer once you’ve warmed up.  Our session leaders will instruct you on how to do this, but we expect you to learn how to do this on your own.  Otherwise, riding a Computrainer is remarkably like riding your bike, except that you’ll notice that whereas on the road, you get to coast a lot, on a Computrainer you’ll be working more steadily.  Which is part of why you’ll improve so much.

4. What do I need to bring with me?
Bring your water bottles, a towel, and your bike.  Don’t forget the essentials like socks, shoes, shorts, and a shirt.  You might also want a snack and recovery drink for after the workout.

5. I’ve never attended, how do I sign-up?
All session reservations are processed through our website.  To begin, you will need a username and password to access the registration system.  Follow the “Register” link on the login menu to create an account.  Once you have an account, navigate to the “Sessions” link on the main menu and identify a class date and time you would like to attend.  Select the class name, then on the details page select the “Register” button.

6. How do I get a username and password?
Follow the “Register” link on the Login menu, fill us in on a few details, and submit your request.  Your approval will be processed immediately.

7. How do I register for a session?
Login with your username and password on the login menu.  Click the “Sessions” link on the main menu, identify the session date and time you want to attend, then click the link on the session name.  Click the “Register” button and you’re done.

8. How far in advance can I register?
As soon as a session is posted you can register for any and all sessions you fully intend to join.  Please note that you can cancel a registration at any time more than 48 hours before the start of a session with no penalty.

9. Can I register a guest using my username?
No, every session attendee must have a unique username and registration record.

10. I lost my password, how do I get a new one?
You can use the Lost Password recovery tool on the login menu to get a replacement password.  Once you’ve logged in with the temporary password, click on the “Profile” link in the main menu then the “Edit” and “Update Your Profile” links at the top of the page; you can enter a new password there.

11. I forgot my username, can I get it back?
Submit a message at the “Contact” link on the main menu.  We’ll identify your username and email it to you at the email address provided.

12. How do I cancel my registration?
Login and navigate to the session you want to cancel your reservation for; if you’re registered, we’ll assume you know how to get there.  Click the “Cancel Registration” button and you’re done.  Note our policy requiring 48 hours notice for cancellations; members who cancel inside 48 hours and have their spot go unfilled may be charged $20 or one ride from your prepaid package.

13. Do I have to cancel my registration for a session I can’t attend?
Yes, please!  Sessions fill up, and cancelling your session allows someone else to sign up and attend. If a session is full and you don't cancel at least 48 hours in advance, we'll charge you $20 or one ride from your prepaid package if you spot isn't taken by someone else.   Please be considerate of your fellow cyclists who may wish to attend a session.
